These are extracts from Angela’s live performances in the 1980 Chopin International Piano Competition in Warsaw, Poland. Only 22 years old at the time, they show that the musicality, energy, and feeling for the dance that are trademarks of her mature performances were already present in the young pianist. This recording is a fascinating and important document, and shows Angela in a repertoire in which she is not often heard.
